Request~Jock!AmericaxUnpopular!Reader~Final

Apparently the best designer was a "Polish cross-dresser dude" by the name of Feliks. You had requested him, and he had spent hours pacing around you trying to capture your style. After he was done, he had sent you off and had said he would have your dress ready in three days. You never knew buying a dress would be such a pain in the ass.

While you waited, Alfred said that he and his friends had chipped in to rent a limousine, and you would be a new addition to their group with Kaitlynn out of the picture.

When Alfred had broken up with Kaitlynn, it wasn't pretty. You had to constantly scurry to class unnoticed. Alfred hadn't announced to the school that he "loved" you yet. If he did, it would be happening tomorrow after the final game of the season.

-----

It was your first time going to any school event in your entire four years of high school. The stadium was packed with people wearing the colors of their school team, and the air was alive with cheers and conversations shooting left and right.

You waited until the crowd piled inside before going to the entrance so no one would see you. Once it looked like the stadium was almost full, you presented your ID and ticket to the ticket collector.

"You're _____________?" the ticket collector asked looking from the ID to your face.

"Uh, yes?" you answered skeptically.

"You've got a special seat reserved for you. If you don't mind, since it looks like everyone's settling inside, I can escort you there."

"Oh…That would be nice."

Just great, you thought bitterly. He's really going to do it…

When you got to your reserved seat, you thought you saw Alfred sitting next to your designated seat, but he looked a little different and had a curl in his hair.

"Matthew!" you cried looking at Alfred's much more unnoticed younger, brother. He never made fun of you, but because he was two years younger than you, the two of you rarely saw each other. He had a way of being inconspicuous, too.

"Hi, ___________," he smiled back as you took your seat. "You're not nervous, are you?"

"Oh. So you know," you noticed.

"Yeah," Matthew nodded. "I actually knew a long time ago, but Alfred made me promise not to tell anyone." He shrugged. "To be honest, I wouldn't mind having you as his girlfriend. You could set him straight."

You raised an eyebrow. "Is Alfred really going to say this thing to everyone in the stadium?" You looked around. "Look, Matthew! Everyone from our school could be here! It's Alfred's last game here, after all!"

"True," Matthew said looking at the packed stadium. "But we should just see what happens. And whatever everyone's reaction is, I'll be here to support you."

"Thanks, Matthew," you smiled. "Maybe we'll lose the game so he won't have to say anything."

"Are you kidding?" Matthew chuckled. "My brother never loses!"

You groaned. That was true.

Matthew proved to be right when your school's team won by a landslide. Your side of the stadium roared with applause and congratulations. Alfred would really be missed.

"Thank you everyone!" Alfred said when he was handed a microphone to say some final words.

Oh, great… you thought apprehensively. Matthew saw your nervous look and gave you a reassuring smile.

"It's been a kick-ass time playing for you all! I just want to say you're all awesome, and I adore you guys, like, so much right now!"

Alfred waited for the cheering to die down before continuing.

"But, before I leave this stadium here tonight, I have one final thing I have to say to someone who's really inspired me to be a better person from here on out."

You saw Alfred wave at your seat.

"Just kill me now, Matthew…" you groaned burying your face in your hands.

"Wait, __________," Matthew said taking your hands away.

"_______________!" you heard Alfred say through the amplified speakers. "I'm sorry for everything that me and my bud—I mean, my buddies and I put you through. I did some terrible things to you, and there were times I thought you wouldn't be able to take anymore of it. But you stayed strong. You put up with all of us, and our teasing, our jokes, the times we bullied you…But most of all, you put up with me. And you even became the best valedictorian our school has ever had despite the odds."

At least no one's throwing soda cans at me, you thought slightly relieved.

"If I could, I'd take it all back, _____________," Alfred continued. "Saying 'I'm sorry' a trillion times won't erase the guilt that's in my heart right now."

Is Kaitlynn here? you wondered suddenly. If she were, she'd kill you on the spot. Or maybe not with all of these people watching.

"…And I just wanted to say, ____________, that ever since freshmen year, when I started to build up my popularity, I did it for you. I wanted you to notice me, to have a crush on me just like every other girl at our school, to smile when I'd walk by, to wish that I could love you back."

You could hear some of the girls begin to murmur.

"Matthew…" you said nervously.

"Hold on, _____________," Matthew said listening to his brother speak.

"But that turned out to be the opposite," Alfred chuckled. "Instead of you loving me, I ended up loving you."

Now the murmurs escalated into quiet conversations abuzz on even the other side of the stadium.

"I love you, ____________. And it would mean the world to me if you could go to senior prom with me."

I already am, you asshole! you wanted to scream. It was hard to hear your own thoughts through the gasps and confusion on your side of the stadium.

"Say yes, _____________!" Matthew urged you nudging you to stand up.

"No!" you hissed.

"Come on, ____________! You know you want to!"

You looked up with your eyes wide open. That was Gilbert's voice. Gilbert. As in the guy who's prissy attitude landed you in the unpopular death spiral at the beginning of freshman year.

"Yeah, ____________! Alfred's been wanting to tell you this for a long time now!"

That's Mathias' voice… you thought surprised.

Now the stadium was in complete shock. The entire Awesome Trio was on your side? But they were they ones who started picking on you in the first place!

"This isn't some kind of joke, is it?" a classmate asked.

"I don't think Alfred's going to say he loves someone that he doesn't care about," another pointed out.

"Hey, if the Awesome Trio is behind everything, it's a good thing, right?"

"Alfred loves _____________?"

More conversations and statements popped up. It was getting to the point where you couldn't remain silent any longer.

"Say something, __________!" people started to say.

"Yeah! Give the guy an answer!"

"Matthew?" You turned to the quiet boy for help. He smiled.

"You already made him a promise, didn't you?" he reminded you.

You sighed. You didn't want to break your promise, but you didn't want to publicize yourself like this. However, you still had to give him your answer.

You stood up. The crowd grew quiet. Taking a deep, you opened your mouth and gave Alfred your answer.

"Alfred, F. Jones…" your voice trembled throughout the stadium. Your heart began to race in your chest. You shut your eyes.

"I'll go to senior prom with you."

Applause. Whooping. Whistling. Sounds that you never expected from the people that bullied you, picked on you, nearly broke you…

"What did I tell you?!" Matthew said over the deafening sounds of the stadium.

Your heart leapt into your chest when Alfred came sprinting up the steps to your seat. You wanted to bolt, but Matthew held onto your hand preventing your escape.

Alfred took you into his arms bridal-style and kissed you full on the lips.

"Pfft! Bleugh!" you spat as soon as he moved away.

"I thought you'd be used to it after the first time," Alfred laughed.

"Stupid jerk!" you grumbled. "Let me down, Alfred!"

"No way, ___________!" Alfred laughed.

Matthew sighed a followed you and his brother to go celebrate with his friends.

-----

"Come on, ___________, if I can't see you, how can I tell you how beautiful you look?" Alfred asked trying to pry open the front door without hurting you.

"I don't want to do this!" you said trying to resist the jock's strength.

"You made a promise, _____________!" Alfred said struggling to get inside to get a good look at you. "Besides! I even aced my final! What more do you want from me?"

"For you to go away!" you said digging your heel into the floor.

Bad move. Your foot slipped, and the door gave way as Alfred fell inside and landed on top of you.

"Get off!" you shouted trying to kick your date off of you.

"Don't! Stop it!" Alfred laughed lifting himself off of you. He began to turn red when he saw you lying on the floor in your dress.

"You look beautiful…" he managed to say while keeping his eyes on you.

"Hey, you two! That can wait until after prom!" you heard Gilbert shout from the limousine.

"Or if you want, we can leave you here!" Mathias jumped in sticking his head from out of the sunroof.

"We're coming!" Alfred said getting to his feet and pulling you up. "Ready to go, ___________?"

"Ready as I'll ever be…" you said sarcastically.

When you got into the limousine, Gilbert, Mathias, and their dates were waiting (too lazy to think of names). The boys blushed when they saw you in your dress, and their girls looked jealous.

"Grow up, you guys," you growled making yourself comfortable.

"Alright! Let's make this the best night eva'!" Alfred said fist-pumping the air—

"Ouch! Shit!" he cried out when he hit the roof of the vehicle.

You groaned. You hoped your date wouldn't embarrass you at prom.

-----

Anyone who was someone was there. You stayed close to Alfred since you weren't close to anyone else. After dinner, Gilbert and Mathias went off with their dates to go look around the recreational room; Alfred, on the other hand, was bombarded by seniors.

In the past week, the Awesome Trio had opened up to you and invited you to join them in their weird activities. It was like a blurred dream of the life that you might have had, but never got a chance to live: they shared jokes, ate with you, talked about what they were going to do after graduation, and generally had a good time. Gilbert even forgave you for hitting Gilbird when another classmate, Elizabeta, had told him that it was an accident.

When you started getting on friendlier terms with the Awesome Trio, people had started to open up to you, but it was still too much. You were going to graduate in a few more days, and honestly, you weren't about to just become best friends with the people who had bullied and ignored you for nearly four years.

Alfred noticed you were getting flustered from all of the attention you were receiving so he took you outside to get some air.

"Too much for you, huh?" he asked leaning over a marbled balcony.

"After being victimized—no thanks to you—for so long, I don't think I'm ready to accept them as friends," you replied. "Even if I did, it's not like we'd keep in touch after graduation."

You paused for a moment before speaking.

"Listen…Alfred?"

"Yeah, __________?"

You averted your gaze away from Alfred's bright blue eyes. It was hard to think straight and keep yourself from blushing when you looked at them.

"I'm think I'm going to pick Eliatha University," you said softly.

Alfred was silent for a few seconds making sure he heard you correctly. Then, a wide grin spread across his face, and he began to whoop in joy.

"Hell yeah!" he shouted getting a few stares from other seniors. "Aw, dude, ___________, we're going to, like, totally have a blast together!"

You refused to look at the excited jock and struggled to make a frown so Alfred wouldn't see you trying to smile.

"I already told you! I'm going there because they have good research programs, and we are not going to have any classes together!"

"Who cares as long as we get to see each other?" Alfred said hugging you.

"Eek!" you screamed. "I'm doing this for me, Alfred! Not you! Now let go!"

"As if, ___________!" he laughed turning your head towards him and giving you a kiss.

"Mmpf! No!" you said breaking away.

"I love you, __________,"  Alfred said softly. "I'm not about to let you get away from me after coming so close."

"You're as close as you can get, Alfred F. Jones!" you growled. You wanted to slap him or kick him, but with so many people watching, it wasn't exactly the best option.

"Physically, I am though there is one more step I can go to," Alfred pointed out. "I'm not going to stop until I reach your heart."

"Stupid sap," you grumbled under your breath.

------

Soon, after dancing and talking and other stupid stuff seniors do when they're high on party phases, senior prom was over. You were one of the last parties to leave because you had to stay behind with the Awesome Trio while they were taking a video of Roderich and Elizabeta making out.

"Guys! That's enough!" you barked yanking Alfred by the collar.

"Ow! Okay, okay!" your date cried out in pain. You were able to convince Gilbert and Mathias to leave, too.

You went on ahead to the roundabout driveway so you locate your ride home. There weren't too many people around so you found your driver waiting next to his limousine. You signaled him with a wave when you suddenly heard some people screaming.

Your eyes grew wide when you saw a runaway car that broke through security driving recklessly on the lawn. You left your heart leap into your chest when you recognized Kaitlynn in the driver's seat, the car heading straight for you.

You began to bolt for the safety of the mansion, but you felt your feet trip clumsily due to your high heels. The headlights were getting closer and brighter, and you could hear Kaitlynn's car engine roaring as the maniacal bitch floored the gas pedal.

The last things you remembered hearing were screams, the sudden screeching of tire brakes, and a loud shattering noise as the windshield cracked under weight.

When you opened your eyes, it was as if time had stopped.

"Mein Gott! Alfred!"

Gilbert and Mathias ran past you to examine the mangled bloody body of your savior. The red and blue lights of the security vehicles lit up the horrific scene as sirens, screams, and cries filled the night. When the medics and policemen arrived, Alfred was loaded up into the ambulance, and Kaitlynn was screaming out nonsense and cursing both you and Alfred as she was seized, hand-cuffed, and placed in the back seat of a police car.

Your legs couldn't move. You couldn't speak. Even after Gilbert and Mathias lifted you up and took you home, you weren't able to think straight.

Alfred had just saved your life. Even after all of the odds, the unreturned feelings, and the shit you gave him, he still sacrificed himself to save you.

You almost didn't notice your phone ringing after staying awake and frozen in place the entire night. Something snapped you back to your senses, and you somehow crawled your way to the nearest, dusty phone and picked it up.

"Hello?" you answered.

"_____________." It was Matthew.  It only made sense since the only classmate you had ever given your phone number to was Alfred. "It's Alfred. I think you should come to the hospital. Gilbert, Mark, and I will be there in a few minutes. Don't do anything stupid, okay?"

"Okay…" you croaked.

When you opened your door after hearing the doorbell ring, everyone was shocked to see you were still in your prom dress, but you didn't care and told them to take you to the hospital right away.

-----

Alfred was in an overnight ER hospital room. The nurse had told you that he suffered a minor concussion and had a few broken bones, but after some rehabilitation, he would be able to play sports again.

Matthew, Gilbert, and Mathias waited outside while you stayed by Alfred's bedside.

"Alfred…" you whispered feeling tears roll down your cheeks. "Dammit, Alfred! You *hic* idiot! If you couldn't play sports anymore, you couldn't go *hic* to school with me! You knew that! You knew!"

You gasped as Alfred groaned and opened his blue eyes that glimmered like the bright blue sky. He lifted a weak hand and tenderly touched your cheek.

"I'm glad you're alright, __________," he strained to say.

"Y-y-y-you're an idiot!" you burst out saying through your uncontrollable tears.

Alfred chuckled, but it hurt with all of his casts.

"That's sweet of you, ___________," he said. "Are you saying you would've taken my place to save me?"

"Hell no!" you shouted. "You just proved to me you're an even bigger idiot th-than *hic* I thought you were!"

Alfred grunted and made a disappointed face. "So you're saying I did it for nothing?"

"No," you grumbled. "Thanks to you, I-I r-realize that I…I…" You inhaled a shaky breath.

"I'm in love with you. There. I said it. Happy?"

"Of cour—! Ow!"

You flinched when Alfred hissed in pain after trying to move a casted hand.

"Alfred, are you alright?" You leaned over to get a better look when Alfred reached up and gave you a kiss.

"Ha ha—Ow! I gotcha!" he laughed despite the pain.

"Y-You jerk! You *hic* freaking idiot! You shit head!" you shouted throwing light punches at Alfred.

"That hurts, ___________!" he whined. "How am I supposed to play sports by the time school starts if you keep that up?"

You crossed your arms and huffed.

"You deserved that," you snorted.  "Stupid head. I couldn't sleep because of you. I didn't even get to study."

"You didn't get to change out of your beautiful dress, either," Alfred added.

"Shut up, Alfred!" you shouted. You hiccupped as you wiped away tears from your swollen eyes.

"Do I at least get a 'thank you, Alfred?'" he asked.

You blinked and sniffed.

"No," you said.

"What?! Come on, ____________!" Alfred whined.

"I'm not going to say 'thank you' because you get this instead."

With that, you hovered over the injured asshole and gave him a long heart-felt kiss.

You stopped and opened your eyes when you heard some snickering from just outside the cramped room.

"Gilbert, shut up!" Matthew hissed trying to get a better look.

"Get the hell out, you guys!" Alfred shouted. He yelped in pain from raising his voice.

"Did you get it on feed, Mark?" Gilbert asked looking at Mathias holding a cell phone.

"Yep!" Mathias smiled.

"I swear! I'll kill you all before graduation!" you shouted running after them leaving Alfred behind. The nurse kicked you all out a few minutes later for disturbing the patients.

--A few years later--

"Hey, babe!" Alfred smiled and gave you a kiss on your lips.

"Not here, Alfred!" you hissed pushing your boyfriend away from you.

"How did your presentation go?" he asked nuzzling your neck.

"It was—hey! I told you not to do that!" You pushed him away. "It was good. I already have people who are willing to invest."

"That's great, __________!" Alfred smiled giving you a peck on the cheek.

You scowled and gave up. You were very busy these days so it was rare for you two to spend any time together even when you lived in the same apartment, but sometimes you still felt embarrassed with the way Alfred would shamelessly express his love for you in public.

Since both of you would be free for the entire day, Alfred took you to the local park for a walk.

"Are Matthew and the old gang still coming over for dinner?" you asked when you two took a rest on a bench under a willow tree.

"Yeah," Alfred answered. "It's been a while since we've seen any of them, hasn't it?"

"Uh-huh," you smiled. Matthew had gone to a university in Canada to do research on the behavioral patterns in bears native to the Canadian wilderness; Gilbert had gone to an engineering university in Germany; and Mathias was studying business in Denmark.

You caught Alfred fidgeting nervously with his hands.

"Hey, what's gotten into you?" you laughed. "You never get this nervous when you see your friends or family!"

"It's not them," your boyfriend said. "I'm worried about who they would be coming to meet when they get here."

You raised an eyebrow. If it was one thing you couldn't understand even with your brains, it was the way Alfred worked.

"What are you talking about, Alfred?" you asked.

Alfred gave you an affectionate smile and a kiss.

"I told them they were going to come over with either a big surprise or a big letdown," your boyfriend said. "It would be all up to you."

"Okay, Alfred. Stop playing riddle games with me," you said playfully ruffling his hair.

Alfred chuckled. "I've always loved that about you; you're always straight to the point."

"Whatever," you said rolling your eyes.

"Okay, then. I'll get straight to the point, too."

Your eyes grew wide when you saw Alfred reach into his pocket and pull out a small velvet box.

"Alfred…" you breathed.

Alfred got off the bench and knelt down on one knee.

"_____________," he said opening the velvet box and revealing a sparkling diamond ring. "After dealing with me for all of these years, would you be willing to deal with me forever by marrying me?"

"Gee," you grimaced. "That's a lot to commit to…"

Alfred blinked and frowned in confusion.

You burst out laughing. "I'm joking, Alfred! I thought you knew me enough to catch that!" You leaned forward and kissed Alfred over and over again. "Of course I'll marry you, Alfred. After all, someone has to keep you in check."

"Hey! That's not very nice!" Alfred laughed. He took the ring out of the box and placed it around your left ring finger.

You stole a quick glance at your ring before resuming where you had left off. It looked like everyone would be in for a big surprise at dinnertime.

I changed the plot to give Canada an appearance. Happy Independence and Birth Day, Canada!

By the way, in that one hectic scene, my mother has a friend whose son went through an experience like that so yeah, it happens. He's completely fine, by the way.

During the car accident scene tears started pooling up in my eyes, and then I screamed throughout my house "GET A GRIP GIRL.". I paused, and then "UNLESS YOUR DYING TO CRY YOUR HEART OUT." as tears are pouring down my face.
