The flag was blue with red and white stripes streaked in a cross and an "X."

"I got your flag, Arthur…" you murmured hoping no one could hear your heart throbbing in your chest. You had a crush on the handsome British stud ever since you met him in high school. Now that the two of your had graduated and gone off to college, you both had gone on your separate ways. During a little high school reunion, however, Arthur's friend, Alfred, had proposed that everyone play a little "seven minutes in heaven" to spice up the reunion.

"Dude, you lucky dog!" Alfred laughed and slapped Arthur hard on his back. "You get to do it with __________! Why don't I just help you guys inside? You know, to break the ice?"

Before either one of you could protest, Alfred and Arthur's arch nemesis, Francis, had shoved you and Arthur inside of the closet and locked the door behind them. It was dark and cramped, not exactly the best place or the best situation to confess your feelings for your crush.

"Well, this is certainly awkward…" you heard Arthur sigh from barely a few centimeters away from you. "___________, you'll have to forgive Alfred for doing this. I know he can be a bit of a hassle sometimes, but—"

"Arthur, I like you," you suddenly blurted out.

There was a momentous pause.

"What?" you heard Arthur say.

Thank goodness it was dark. You didn't want him seeing your face. It was probably beet-red by now.

"I said I like you, Arthur," you repeated. "I always have—ever since high school."

"Oh…uh…" Arthur didn't sound like he was prepared for this.

Oh, crap, I knew it, you miserably thought. It was a long shot, anyway.

"Look, I'm sorry for saying that out of the blue," you quickly apologized. "I just didn't think we'd get another moment like this and I'd never get another chance. I've just wanted you let you know how I've felt about you all of this time."

"___________...?" Arthur murmured.

"Yes?" you responded.

"I…I like you, too," you heard him reluctantly say. "I've always thought there was something different about you. Even though I can't exactly say what that quality is, I still find something fascinating about you."

Now you were positive your face was steaming red. This was the best day of your life.

"Oh, Arthur…" you breathed. "That makes me so happy…"

You could hear Arthur shift uncomfortably in the darkness.

"N-Now that we both know we like each other," he stammered, "should we…you know…? We still have a few minutes left…"

You could feel your cheeks growing hotter and hotter, your heart now beating like you had just run a marathon.

"R-Really?" you babbled. "You mean it?"

Arthur chuckled. He always sounded cute when he did that. "If that's alright with you, love."

He used that word on me! you squealed in your head. You had thought it was a common thing to hear an Englishman use the word "love" to address women they were fond of, but you hadn't heard Arthur say it until now.

"Oh, Arthur, that's completely alright with m—"

CRASH!

You don't know how in the world it all happened, but somehow, against all odds, a large truck had blasted its way into the closet through the foundation and hit you straight on the head causing you to black out.

"…"

"…____________...."

"__________..."

"__________?"

"Huh?"

When you opened your eyes, you were enveloped in a bright white light surrounding you with heavenly choir music in the background.

You looked around. The splitting ache on your forehead didn't hurt anymore. "Am I…? Am I…dead?"

"____________," you heard a voice say. You moved your head to the source of the voice and saw what appeared to be Arthur with a white robe and angelic wings.

"A-Arthur?" you stammered. "Is that really you? Wait—How in the world are you flying like that? Where are we?"

You watched as Arthur flew down and knelt beside you.

"We're in heaven, ___________," he said in a calm voice. "A truck hit you on your head costing you your life—as it did mine. But don't worry. Now we can finally live the rest of eternity side by side. It doesn't have to be seven minutes anymore. It doesn't have to be in a closet—unless you want it to be. We can be together whenever we want, wherever we want."

"What? So we're really dead?" you asked. This was all very weird. "B-But there was so much more I wanted to do, so many places to visit, and a full life ahead of me…"

Arthur looked displeased. "You'd have second thoughts of being the eternal lover of an angel until the end of time? Even though he is the person you've had strong feelings for ever since you laid eyes on him?"

You burst out laughing. "Are you kidding me? There's no way I'd give up an opportunity like this."

And until the end of time or whatever it is people call it, you and Arthur had as many seven-minute sessions in heaven whenever you felt like it. The end.
This is stupid and I know it.

For those of you who know about how I feel about reader-inserts, you'll know why I wrote it like this. I don't understand why seven minutes in heaven stories are so popular. They're redundant as *beep* and yet they constantly make it to the front page making the rest of the reader-insert side of the fanbase look pathetic. They aren't even fun to write. I had a few laughs out of this, though.

Axis Powers: Hetalia and its characters belong to Himaruya Hidekazu.
This story belongs to me, *GydroZMaa.
